The Simplicity Device: Your Personal Mobile Representative

In this paper we present the concept of a mobile phone acting as the user representative in the digital world. Such an enhanced mobile phone, which we call the Simplicity Device, can store relevant user data and communicate with other devices. Therefore, context-aware services and applications provided by the Simplicity Device or other devices can be tailored to the users needs. We designed a corresponding system architecture considering existing standards and privacy issues. Then we implemented a prototype of the Simplicity Device supporting several applications; three of them are discussed in this paper.
