The goal of this course is:

to provide an overview of technologies that can be used to support (collaborative) learning
to deliver insight into the development process of such computer applications and
to establish an understanding of effects that different types of technologies have on collaborative processes.

Target audience: participants of the Doctoral Training Program (DTP) of the Learning Sciences

Day 1	Getting to know technologies for collaborative learning
9:15-10:45	Introductory lecture
11:00-16:00	Practical experiments with prototypes in small groups (including 1 hour lunch break)
16:00-17:00	Discussion about experience with prototypes

Day 2	How to design new collaborative learning applications
9:15-10:00	Lecture on effects of different display types on collaborative processes (slides)
10:00-15:00	Development of ideas on how to support a specific collaborative learning scenario using technologies (including 1 hour lunch break)
15:00-17:00	Discussion of solutions and lessons learned
