Attjector: Design and Analysis of and Attention-Following Wearable Micro-Projector

Abstract

Interaction using micro projectors is a nascent field within HCI. Work so far has been mainly concerned on user manipulation of mobile projectors. The problem with this approach is that the userÕs attention is mainly focused on controlling the projector and not on her primary task. Instead of requiring the user to manipulate the projector, we propose the use of a shoulder-mounted self-steering projector, that follows the userÕs locus of attention, which is usually situated near his hands during completion of tasks in mobile conditions. Previous projects with worn projectors did not have steering capability.
