Logging
As a measure to prevent abuse, the following information is recorded for each access:
- IP address of the computer requesting a page
- date and time of the request
- access method/function specified by requesting computer
- access status of web server (file transferred, file not found, command not executed, etc.)
- name of file that was requested
- referrer; URL from which the file or the desired function was requested
The recorded data is used for the purpose of identifying and pursuing invalid access and attempts to gain access to the web server and - in anonymized form - to optimize web content.
The logged data is saved for a period of three months and then deleted.
Cookies
A cookie contains information which the web server sends to the browser. It is stored on the local computer by the browser, and is later sent back to the server when the next request is made. This allows the implementation e.g. of user-specific settings.
On this website, a cookie is used to remember the language that was last selected. Another cookie stores the selected font size. The cookies are automatically deleted one year after the last language selection or font size change. A user can delete a cookie earlier using their browser.
