An Analysis of the Usage of Mobile Phones for Personalized Interactions with Ubiquitous Public Displays Workshop Ubiquitous Display Environments in conjunction with UbiComp 2004, Nottingham, UK, September 7 2004. |
Do personalized interactions with ubiquitous public displays make sense? In our analysis we investigate what forms of personalization and interaction styles are applicable in this context. Based on this we present a matrix relating the number of persons that can see the display to the number of people that can interact with the display. Through this we show that there are different cases where personalization of services on public displays is useful. At the end of the paper we introduce a prototype currently under development. We conclude with a set of open questions which might be answered through the development and usage of this prototype. |
