Research

My research focuses on the interaction between humans and GenAI systems, with a particular interest in how users understand and engage with intelligent technology. I explore peoples mental models of GenAI capabilities and how systems can be designed to align with these expectations, making them more intuitive, trustworthy, and effective to use. I take a dual perspective: from the human side, I investigate how users can best understand and interact with GenAI; from the system side, I examine what is required for GenAI to accurately interpret user intent and communicate its own limitations and abilities. I am especially interested in designing generative GenAI-based multi-agent systems that support both novices and experts in meaningful, helpful ways.
