There are many reasons to become teaching assistant: You gain a deeper understanding of the course content, gain useful contacts and experiences in presenting and teaching,...

Maybe you have already experienced the difference that a great tutor lesson can make. But what do you need to prepare and present an inspiring and helpful tutor lesson? Here you will learn, discuss and try out some concepts, tools, and methods.

This course addresses students who want to be teaching assistant for a course of the Media Informatics department such as Medientechnik, Computer Grafik 1, MMI, MMP. Please state the course for which you would like to be teaching assistant in your application in Uniworx .

Overview of the course content:
  • basics of didactics
  • presenting
  • activating and motivating
  • communication techniques
  • giving and receiving feedback

Course assessment

To receive the LMU Tutor Basis Certificate
  • active participation during the seminar
To receive 3 ECTS points and the LMU Tutor PLUS Certificate
  • active participation during the seminar
  • preparation of one tutor lesson of a Media Informatics course
  • teaching the prepared lesson
  • receiving and giving peer-feedback on one tutor lesson

The course is suitable for:

  • Media informatics students (Bachelor or Master), especially for tutors/ teaching assistants at our institute or those who are interested in becoming one.
