The lecture "Media Art, Media Technology, Media Culture" will present artists, artworks, and movements in the context of art, media, technology, and computer science. Historical, art-historical, and practical aspects of art are also considered. The goal is to provide an overview of the wide range of media art movements and to identify connections to the field of art. -
Variant II with Laura Schuetz and Steven Stannard:
Design Workshop 1 provides a general overview of design as a discipline, tool, process, and mindset embedded in design history and today's context. Students will work on and explore the essential elements of the design process (focusing on physical products and services) through a practical project. Supplementary content includes creative processes in the context of design, possible career fields and the associated tasks for designers, as well as in-depth exploration of specific disciplines such as Circular and Technology Design. Terms such as Corporate Identity, Design DNA, New Functional Design, and Product Identities will be explained, illustrated with examples, and applied in the semester project.
