Information about Submitting Theses during COVID-19
(for theses which have not been registered through Uni2Work)
Please note that the following rules only apply to Media Informatics and MCI students. Students from other study programs (e.g., MMT, Business Administration, Psychology, etc.) who write their thesis with the Media Informatics chairs, please consult your respective institute for more information.
Create an LRZ Sync&Share folder and upload two files to it: (1) the pdf of your thesis (firstname_lastname.pdf) and (2) a zip folder (firstname_lastname.zip) containing all contents you would have normally handed in on the supplementary CD, such as questionnaires, source files, etc. Please contact your supervisor if you are uncertain and discuss on an individual level which files are required in your case. Please make sure that you save the final pdf separately and that all other files are included in the zip file.
Furthermore, send an e-mail on the day of your submission until 23:59 to your supervisor, your responsible professor, and the secretary including (1) the link to the sync&share folder, (2) your full name, and (3) your matriculation id. Please note that all files must be uploaded completely to the Sync&Share at the time the email is sent (consider the upload speed!) and that any changes on the files after the submission deadline are strictly prohibited and your submission is automatically graded as failed.
Please make sure that you have the statutory declaration ("Eidesstattliche Erklärung") signed and included in the final pdf. It is ok to attach the scan of the signed page to the end of the pdf (a digital signature is fine if you don't have access to a printer and scanner).
It is not necessary to hand in a printed version of your thesis.
Your supervisor will soon after send you a confirmation to attest that you have submitted your thesis completely and in time. As usual, we will forward your final grade to the study coordination after reviewing both the written thesis and the thesis presentation.
