Task
The "Museumsbuddy" is a unique interactive audioguide that will accompany children (from the age of 4) on a scavenger hunt through the Museum Brandhorst. Spira, the spirit of art and the museum, shares inspiring stories, dream journeys and soundscapes with the listeners. Thanks to a cooperation with tonies®, we have 40 Tonieboxes at our disposal. By interacting with the device (with figures and RFID tags), children are playfully activated to discover the museum and the works of art there, thus creating an active experience instead of a purely passive one.
You will
- Develope new functions and feedback elements (based on visitor feedback) intended to change and optimize the Toniebox for museum visits. For this purpose, tonies® kindly granted us access to the firmware.
- Find answers the following design challenge(s):
- How can the Toniebox be modified to make it easier and more exciting to use in the museum?
- How can the Toniebox support non-linear storytelling?
- How can the Toniebox support a shared listening experience?
- Completion by the end of May 2025
You need (preferable)
- Interest in art, design, technology and UX design
- Enjoy helping to shape art education at the museum
The project is carried out in cooperation with the Museum Brandhorst and the Creative Technologist Dr. Beat Rossmy. For further information on the project, please contact the project coordinator Janina Horn (janina.horn ät museum-brandhorst.de).
