Multimedia-Programmierung Summer Semester 2005
In the summer semester 2005, the lecture Multimedia-Programmierung took place at LFE Media Informatics. Information about the practical assignment and the results are presented here. General information about the lecture is on the associated web page.
Practical assignment
The practical assignment was the creation of a breakout game in groups of six to seven students with Macromedia Flash MX 2004. The game had to comprise the following elements:
- Intro
- Different levels
- Bonus objects that change the behavior of the game elements
- Increasing speed of the ball
- Time measurement
- Integration of sound
- Singleplayer mode
- Multiplayer mode for 2 to 4 players
- Players compete against each other
- Display how many bricks each player has left
- Possibility to influence other players
- Scoring based on how many bricks are left
- Highscore
- Chat
- Additional menus like help, options and about
Before the groups started programming they modeled and structured their games with MML, a modeling language for interactive multimedia applications.
