This course offers a practical introduction to Infovis with the "Processing" framework. The course takes place as a two-week full time workshop. After an introduction to Processing, participants work in small groups on visualisation projects for freely available datasets.
The course also covers basic topics of computer graphics, such as drawing geometric objects, also in 3D space, and affine transformations. Participants are expected to know at least the basics of object-oriented programming in any language, ideally in Java. Prior knowledge of Processing is not required.
Please note that you need to bring your own laptop. We are happy to offer the course in English if international students take part.
The course is suitable for:
- Students of Media informatics (Bachelor, Master)
- Students of Art and Multimedia (Bachelor)
