Forschungsinteressen
My research explores how humans and robots can collaborate and communicate in smart, embodied environments. I focus on how robotic systems can communicate their intentions, actions, and limitations in ways that are transparent and trustworthy using nonverbal cues like spatial audio, motion, and spatial behavior, with the goal to develop robotic environments that are not only intelligent, but also legible, predictable, and responsive to human behavior.
For this purpose we build the MIMUC Robotic Lab: a room-scale smart environment featuring a ceiling-mounted Kinova Gen3 robotic arm, smart appliances, spatial audio, and environmental sensors, that allows for rapid prototyping and evaluation of human-robot collaboration scenarios.
If you're interested in developing and researching in a cutting edge instrumented environment and have knowledge in Unity 3D, C#, C++, Sketching and Prototyping with Hardware or Computer Vision feel free to contact me regarding theses.
