Task
Topic:
With the increasing customization of products and systems, interaction and operation tasks (often requiring coordinated two-handed input) are becoming more complex. In this thesis, you will investigate how XR-based instructions for interaction and machine operation tasks can be evaluated in a standardized manner. The goal is to identify and develop suitable task designs, performance metrics, and experimental methodologies that enable meaningful benchmarking.
You will:
- Conduct a structured literature review on benchmarking and XR tasks
- Evaluate tasks for an existing machine interface
- Plan and carry out a user study
- Analyze and summarize the findings in a written thesis and present them to an audience
- (Optional) Contribute to the writing of a research paper
You need:
- Interest in XR research, benchmarking and hardware, particularly for measuring instructions
- Experience in conducting studies and XR or hardware development (ideally using Unity and Meta Quest 3)
- Strong English communication and academic writing skills
