Syllabus

In Human-Computer Interaction 1, we will discuss human information processing (models, physiological and psychological basics, operational processes), the technical realization of user interfaces (input and output devices, interaction style) and present human-centered design processes, evaluation techniques, guidelines andstandards for usability.

The lecture is based on the book Mensch-Maschine-Interaktion. As students of the LMU, you can access the book online.

Tutorial

The notions presented in the lectures are then applied in the tutorials. An important part of the tutorials will involve the development of a group project using user-centered design methods throughout the semester.
