Contents
In this course, students will learn about information visualisation (IV) and automotive ambient IV concepts in academia and industry. Participants will work in groups, develop IV concepts of vehicle states, and implement in automotive user interfaces (UIs). The course topic focuses on the question of how to use ambient visualizations to subtly communicate various vehicle states to drivers or passengers and alleviate motion sickness at the same time?
The course is expected to mainly take place online for the concept phase in the year 2020. The following implementation phase in the year 2021, only if the COVID-19 circumstance allows them and students want to, might take place physically at Frauenlobstr. 7a. Accepted students will work on the following tasks (tentative):
1) analyse and select one design pattern for IV concepts;
2) creating IV concepts of vehicle states based on the selected design pattern;
3) and implementing the concept with arduino, projection, virtual reality, etc.
More information will be announced and confirmed soon. Please check this page regularly for updates.
This PMG course is designed to hold around 5 groups and each group consists of 4-5 students. Accepted students will form the group at the beginning. Each group will work on its own different design pattern within the area described above.
