Syllabus
During the course, students will study and present current human-computer interaction topics (and adjunct topics, like computer graphics, visualization, interactive machine learning, and design) in the form of a literature review paper. Topics will be presented in the first appointment of the semester. After the first appointment, each student will get their own unique topic. Each topic corresponds to a member of our team. Over the semester, the students and team members will have to meet on a regular basis to discuss the process and next steps in one-on-one settings.
During the semester, students will review each other's literature review papers to provide feedback and, thus, understand the academic review process better. Based on the reviews, students will improve their work for the final submission. Moreover, to get an understanding of literature reviews, students will read, summarize, and present one literature review at the beginning of the semester. This will greatly help them write their own literature review.
Finally, at the end of the semester, all students will have to present their work in an oral, in-person presentation.
